TAKAPAU CAMP.
UNFAVORABLE WEATHER. NEW PLYMOUTH MAN IX HOSPITAL, By Telegraph—Press Association. Takapau, Last Night. The Takapau encampment lias so far not been favored with good weather. Infantry work until to-day lias been practically at a standstill, though the mounteds have been doing the usual manoeuvres. The lines have been in a very sloppy condition, but dried consideraoly to-day. The health of the men lias beeni excellent, a case of appendicitis being the most serious reported. The sufferer' is Rifleman Lobb, of Westown, New Plymouth, belonging to B Company, 11th Regiment. He was removed to the Waipukurau hospital. The latest advice from there skites that he is not seriously ill. Eyerything is now is readiness for the remainder of the infantry, who enter on Friday. ' Trooper Blackstock, of the 2nd Mounted Rilles, Tsiranaki, was this evening kicked on the head by a horse while shoeing it. He is suffering from a severe scalp wound, but his condition is not critical. 1
