Mr. R. Hislop, General Manager of the 'South British Insurance Company, will arrive in New Plymouth on Monday and spend a few days in this district. Mr. G. Seifert left Palmerston on Friday for London, in order to be present at the sculling race oil tli# Thames for the championship of the world betwesm Barry and Paddon (of Australia). Mr. Seifert is the latter's backer.
Mme. Antonia Dolores, who appeart ai the Theatre Royal to-night, js making her sixth tour of tne Dominion. A most entertaining conversationalist, she makes numerous friends wherever she goes, and thus looks forward to each successive visit to the various towns. Mme. Dolores has a warm place in her heart for New Zealand, and similarly for New Plymouth, for she is a lover of gccne/y, so much so that siic does not mind the slow travelling of our trains, because it enables licr to see the beautiful scenery en route. In conversation with a News reporter, Mme, Dolores expressed her delight with the enthusiastic receptions tendered her at Duncdin, Chris tehurch, and other towns on the present tour. Yes, she is already looking forward to another visit to the Dominion, and says that her New Zealand tours are aiways made very pleasant bv the kindness and hospitality of its people.
