A Harbor Tragedy
SUDDEN SINKING OF A STEAMER,
PASSENGERS DROWNED.

A tragic disaster occurred to the steamer Huon, 730 tons, which was returning with a full load of fruit for j transhipment, and eight passengers. She turned tujjtle, sank and precipitated the | passengers and crew into the water. The weather waß dead calm. The Excella lowered a boat and saved all but three—Mrs. Gallon and her son (aged 4) and Mrs. Fysh. It is believed they rushed to the hold and were taken down with the Btcamer. Mrs. Gallon had another child aboard of 9 yeais. This was the only one of the family saved to meet the father, who was waiting on the wharf. The cause of the disaster is unknown.
