THE CRISP CASE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Yesterday. John Crisp, solicitor, of Palmerston, appeared before the court this morning on several charges of forgerv and embezzlement. He was committed for
trial on a charge oi forging the name and / signature -of James Park to certain conveyances of lands in Hawke's Bav.
ATTEMPTED MURDER,
Dunedin, Last Night. At the Police Court to-day George Green (on remand) was charged with attempting on March 22 to commit murder by discharging a loaded revolver at Eleanor Maud Creen, bis wife, and was remanded for a further week.
HOLLAND'S SENTENCE.
Dunedin, Last Night. A deputation of representatives 'if labor unions, headed by the Hon. J. T. Paul, waited on the Hon, James Allen last night and urged that the Government should recommend the Governor to mitigate some portion of the sentence on Henry Holland, for the reasons that the olTenee was committed at a time of abnormal excitement; that the law bad been vindicated, and tlie exercise of clemency would strengthen the law and enthrone justice; on account of Holland's health. Tim Minister said tha Cabinet had no wish to be, vindictive, and that he would have pleasure in telegraphing the subject of the interview to the Premier. <
