THE WELSH CHURCH.
DESPOILED OR DISENDOWED?
By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 22, 10.10 p.m. London, April 22.
Mr. Asquith justified the Welsh Disendowment Bill because the ancient endowments were given to the Church at a time when Church and State were coextensive entities.
Mr. Balfour protested that the Bill robbed the poor and the Church.
Mr. Bonar Law said one of the first acts of the Unionist Government would be to restore the funds whereof the Welsh Church was being despoiled.
