ANTONIO DOLORES.
Quite a number of singers of note have visited the Dominion in recent months, but none of them so familiarly known in Australasia as Mil*. Antonio- Dolores. And none, of them, is can safely be said, has achieved a more lasting popularity based on a foundation of sheer merit. The audience that assembled at His Majesty's Theatre, Dunedin, the other evening was, in a mood -to accord the. heart-
iest of welcomes to a singer whose name has become inseparably associated with many happy and abiding musical memories (says the Otago Daily Times). Mile. Dolores has the peculiar distinction among others as a vocalist that she sets the very highest standards for herself as well as for her audience, and that she adheres to the song .recital, a medium of
unassisted vocal expression which makes demands which only the most finished of artists could hope' to meet successfully. Mile. Dolores lias the greater mastery of the vocal art by reason of the fact that she is a thoroughly accomplished musician. All that, she essays she does so well that one never imagines that it could have been properly done otherwise. Dolores will appear in the Theatre Koyal next Monday night. (Inly one cored t will bo given. The plan opens at Collier's to-morrow.
