Mr. Massey was interviewed to-day by a deputation representing interested public bodies, who asked Government asconstructing a bridge across the Waitemata Ilarbor to connect tho city with the Nortn Shore boroughs ol Northcote, Takupurui, Birkenhead, and Devonport. It was argued that if a small toll were paid by the owners of faitie using the bridge, that in itsoix would be sufficient to pay interest ou the cost of the structure. Mr. Mas3ey promised to consider tile matter, and sum if practicable the Government might ;id(l this question to the order of reference of the commission which is« to inquire iyto the matter ol utilising the waterways in Auckland province.
