Chappie opposed the Bill in the interests of seienco, Mr. Ellis Griffith emphatically denied that there was any cruelty in the laboratories-, anil foreshadowed an ' amendment in committee permitting vivisection of the dog under anaesthetics if a certificate Were produced.
