it. ,e WHEN THE WALKURE ARRIVES. J FUNCTION TO BE HELD. The, New Plymouth Harbor Board has decided that the arrival of the first ocean-going steamer at New Plymouth slull be suitably recognised. The Walkure, an ocean-going steamer which lias been chartered direct from Hull, is ex- . pected to arrive somewhere between j May 5 and 10. At yesterday's meeting of the Board, the following resolution was passed:— That the Harbor Board, on the occasion of flie arrival at the port of New Plymouth of the Walkure, the first oceangoing steamer, celebrate tiic occasion .by entertaining representatives of the vari- '' ous chambers of commerce, county councils, borough councils, chairmen of co- ' operative dairy factories, the chairmen of branches of tihe FarmerV Union, and other representative men of Taranaki, at a luncheon at New Plymouth when the vessel is in port.
