Seven persons were before the Magistrate's Court charged with offences conmecteid -with itihe .'mteraiptwn at the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher's meeting in the Town .Hall on April 3. Evidence was given by the chairman of the meeting, Mr. Von. llaast, that the proceedings oil' the night in question were very rowdy .Neither he nor Mr. Fisher could get a hearing until about a quarter to ten. There was a perfect pande- j nionium till then. The organ piayed to serurA peace. The Magistrate said the accused had Jiad their fun and must pay for it. One of the defendants was fined £l) and another £'2 I Us, anil the rest ii each with Court costs. Two other cases were adjourned.
