ANGLICAN CHURCH.

MUST STAND APART FROM OTHER CHURCHES.

Hy Cable—Press Association —Copyright .London, April 10.

Dr. Gore, Bishop of Oxford, in an open letter to the clergy, deals severely with modernist views on the New Testament miracles, lie says it is absolutely necessary that the Bishops should discountenance any man continuing to exercise the ministry who disbelieves in the miracles.

Bishop Gore accuses the Evangelicals of threatening,' the disruption of the church', by their growing co-operation with non-episcopal (churches. He declares that the Anglican communion can never recognise federation with other Protestant bodies nor celebrate open communion. The Church must therefore be left standing apart from any general Protestant federation. Extremists in the Catholic movement make it difficult to give an intelligent reason why they should not be Soman Catholics; nevertheless there is no call for Anglicans to forego a belief in purgatory or the invocation of saints.
