SCOUT TROUBLES.

DISSENSION IN AUCKLAND I TROOPS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Trouble arose at a meeting of scoutmasters held on Saturday evening, as the result of which it appears that the 'district commander, over 100 boy scouts, | and a number of scoutmasters have seceded from the movement in Auckland, At the meeting, it appears, discussion turned on the recent appointment of district commander. It was then suggested that several scoutmastars were endeavoring to harass the commander in every way possible. Towards the close of the meeting there was a good deal of heated argument, and finally the chairman, Mr. G. Thorpe, stated that his position as commander of the district was a purely honorary one, and he would therefore no longer tolerate this continued interference. He thereupon withdrew, stating that he would Bend in his resignation. Five scoutmasters also left the meeting, and have to-day forwarded their resignations, together with those of the officers and boys of tlieii- troops, to the Dominion scoutmaster. The seontmasters who have resigned intend holding a meeting shortly, with the idea of forming an executive that will act as the nucleus of a fresh scout organisation in Auckland.
