HOOKEY.
LADIES' ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Taranaki Ladies.' Hockey' Association was held in the Town Ilall on Saturday. Delegates present were:—Miss Lye (Ngatimaru), Miss G. Mouatt (Now Plymouth High School), Miss Aitken (Whakaitika), and Miss Andrews (secretary). Mws Tooman was also present, to obtain information for the Stratford Hockey Cflub and Stratford High School Hockey Glub. Hawera High School and Matapu Hockey Club applied for affiliation to the Association. It was decided that N°a.timaru, Whakatika A and B, and High School „A arjd B should form the Northern DiviI sion, the Southern Division to consist |of Kaponga, Hawera, Hawera High School, Matapu, and. the two Stratford clubs, should they affiliate. The first round of fixtures commences on Saitur.day, May 16. It was decided to hold the seven a side tournament at Hawera on June 3. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—Patron, Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P.; president, Mr F. P. Corkill; vice-presidents, presidents of affiliated clubs; secretary, Miss E. Andrews. WHAKATIKA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Wltakartika Hockey Club was held in the Town Hall on Friday, Miss Andrews in the chair. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follow:—Patron, Dr. Fookes; president, Miss Dempsey; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. C. H. Burton, L. M. Mon.teath, J. C. Nicholson, A. R. Standish, H. Stocker, and D. Webster; captain, Miss McEwen; vice-captain, Miss E. Andrews; secretary and delegate, Miss Ml Arthur; committee. Misses S. Mouatt, B. Johnstone, M. Corkill, and captain, vice-captain and secretary; selection committee, Mipes M, McEwen, E. Andrews, and M. Arthur; coach, Mr S. Paul. It was decided to hold practices on both Thursdays and Saturdays, the first practice to be held on the racecourse ground on Saturday, 18th inst. A committee was elected to make arrangements for the club's annual dance. Three new members verc elected. j TIKORANGI GIRLS' CLUB. A concert was given in th« Tikorangi Ball on Friday evening, in aid of the .Girls' Hockey Club. The promoter.?' efforts were rewarded with a very good attendance, and the club's funds should benefit considerably in consequence. After the concert, supper was provided I>.v the ladies, and the evening's amusement was concluded with a dance. The programme -was as follows:—Overture. Miss Norris; song, Mr W, Smith; song. Mrs Yeates; recitation, Mr Johnston; song, Miss Emily Foster; song, Mr R. Nippert; song, Miss E. Norris; song, Mr Joll; song, Mr Day; recitation, Miss Bishop; song, Mr F. Smith; song, Miss Badley; song. Mr Duckworth; recitation, Mr Goldsworthy; song, Miss Norris; song, Mr Harkiii; sketch, "The Old Maid," Misses Ridland (old maid), Scccombe (Anna), Snowball and Messrs. T. Hine (doctor) and Garner (deacon).
