FASHIONABLE BOARDING-HOUSE RAIDED. By Telegraph— Association. Auckland, Saturday. The police raided a fashionable boarding house just outside the city proper last night, and scizod a large quantity of intoxicating liquor, six dozen bottles of beer being found under a wardrobe in a bedroom occupied by the proprietress. Boarders were found in the act of drinking beer in the bedrooms. Unopened bottles were found under the table in one room. One estimable guest, who pro Ted to be a constable in plata clothes, was in possession of a dozen hotlea, which he stated were acquired from the landlady at six shillings a dozen. A most reasonable explanation offered was that there was going to bo a party in the house, but it was not accepted. The police droTe off in a taxi-cab loaded with bottles.
