TAKANAui RUGBY LEAGUE. , ANNUAL MEETING. The annual mooting <!f tin- Taranaki Rugby League wi held at Elthiun mi Thursday afternoon. The report, showed that the following matches had been played-—Wangaini, won, 11—12; Auckland, lost, 8—24, Wanganwi, lost 11—13; Canterbury, lost 9—10; Wanganui, lost 11—13; New South Wales, lost s—l(i; Auckland, won 21—11. All the players that represented the province last winter are available this season. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of 12s Id. The Auckland-'Taranaki challenge match yielded a profit of £SO to the Taranaki League. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, held over till the opening of the season; president, Mr. V. J. Lcathain, Eltham; vice-presidents, presidents of competing clubs; management committee Messrs Cooper (Mangatoki), Hooker, ; (New Plymouth), Kyle, (Waitara), Xieholls (Kaponga), Tocker, Stratford, Moir and King (Eltham); secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Perrett, re-elected. It was reported that Auckland had accepted Taranaki's challenge for tho English Challenge Cup, and the match would be played early at Auckland. A match will probably be played in Taranaki against. Wanganui on June 3rd.

The season will be opened at Eltham on Thursday next when A and B teams will be chosen from players throughout the province. Match#s to be played this season include England, Xcw South Wales and Wanganui, and probably Hawke's Bay and Poverty Bay. Visits will be made to Auckland and Wanganui. New Plymouth, Eltham, Kaponga, and Mangatoki have entered for the flag championship, and two teams may be seeured between Stratford and Waitara.

Mr. Perrett was appointed to represent Taranaki at the referees' conference to be held at Auckland on April 23rd.

it was reported that the Eltham Borough Council was considering the League's offer of £25 for the lease of Taumata Park.
