HOTEL WORKERS.
A QUESTION OF AWARDS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Both old and new unions of hotel employees are in complete ag»ement with the Licensed. Victuallers' Association. At the Arbitration Court, application was made for an award, with the request that the present agreement between the new union apd employers "be' /cancelled. It was explained that tie new union would very soon go out of existence, the members njerging wit! the old union. The Court discussed the technical difficulty of getting grid of tin agreement which all parties concerned wanted to get rid of. The Act, hifl Honor pointed out, did not' provide that an award might be made to supersede an industrial agreement. It was ultimately arranged that yet another agreement should be entered into, cancelling the existing agreement ana agreeing to 1 make an award in terms of the, proposals now before the Court. This plan will be carried out in accordance with the rties of the different organisation; concerned.
