CHANGING THE DATE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 5, 5.5 p.m. London, April 4. The Earl of Meath, in a letter, suggests that June 22 should be observed as Empire Day.
The Earl of Meath was largely responsible for the inauguration of Empire Day. June 22 is the anniversary of his I Majesty King George's coronation. It is also the anniversary of the birth of the late Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, P.C., L.L.D. .
