On Thursday, 2nd inst., for my Waiwakaiho autumn horse fair, I had a good catalogue, with a representative attendance of buyers. Good broken horses were in demand, and any broken horses with some weight met with good competition. Mr. Harold Street's hunter "Nigger" made £35. unbroken heavy horses up to £2O 15s, 2 and 3-ycar halfdraughts from £l3 to £l6 10s, hacks £2 5s to £5 ss, good spring carters, broken up to £25 15s, hacks and lighter horses from £5 to £l3 10s. Private sales for the week as follows: Forward cows £5 10s to £4 10s, good store cows £4, bulls £5 10s, 2y s -year steers £5 7s (id, £5 2s 6d, £5 15-months and 18-steers steers £4, £3 16s, £3 15s. £3 14s, £3 12s, £3 10s, £3 (is, £3, weaner steers £1 7s to CI 17s, wcaner heifers £1 2s, mixed aged ewes 13s, fat lambs 13s, 2-tooth wethers 15s, 2-tooth ewes 14s 3d, lambs 9s 9d, small 7s 9d, rams 1 Vagus.
AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as fob lows:— At Wcstfteld yards on Thursday last dairy and store cattle came forward in average numbers, and sold at the laterates. Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, sold at /rom £8 10s to £0 15s, others £6 to £7 17s Gd, empty cows £3 13s to £4 2s, heifers £2 10s t<SM, calves 25s to 38s bulls £2 10s to £4 4s, Sheep.—Best wethers sold at from 22s 6d to 245, others £1 to 22s 3d, heavy ewes 17s Od to 225, others 15s Od to 17s Od; lambs in short supply, advanced in price?. Pigs came forward in full supply, and sold at late rates. Baconers sold at from £3 to £3 lis. large porkers £2 5s to £3, porkers £1 10s to £2 4s, slips 18s to 23s weaners 6s to 12s Gd. .
