Mutton: As the result of heavy arrivals, together with poor demand prices have declined. Canterbury, per lb, 4%d; North Island, 4%d. There is dull sale for heavy carcases of mutton, which may be quoted at: Canterbury others 4d.

Lamb: There is dull sale for all lamb. There is an inclination to force sales, with the result that prices have declined. Canterbury, fl'/i"! heavyweights, Od; other than Canterbury, Cy 8 d for light weights. Beef: There has been no alteration in the beef market since last vcek. New Zealand hinds, ner lb, 4'/>d; fores, 3%d; chilled fores, 3%d. \

Butter: There has been no a'terat ; on in the market since last week. The Danish butter market is steady at 122s to 1245; Siberian, 108s to 110s; Australian, 104s to 108s: New Zealand, 107s to 110s, exceptionally choice 112b; Argentine, 104s to 108*.

Cheese: There has been no alteration in the market since last week. Canadian white, per ewt, 08s to 70s; colored 70s to 71s; finest New Zealand white 61s 0d to 02s- fid, fine white 01s. finest colored fi4s 6d to C>!>s, fine colored 03s; Australian, 00s to 03s.

Hemp: The market is stendv. There is not much demand, but for New Zealand prices are firm. The Manila market is dull, on account of the large supply on hand and the continued increase in sisal production. Iflair current, per ton, £2C 10s (nominal quotation) foriall positions. New Zealand good-fair, per ton. £26; fair, £23. Sisal: New York quotations, 5 dollars 50 cents. The quotations here are about £26 per ton. Mexican sisal shipments for Februar" were 04,320 bales, against 41,80!) in the same month last year.
