The, Magistrate ruled that he had a right to he there. Mr. Uvan objected, and quoted sub-section 3 of section till of the Act to show that the Department's ca-e had to he conducted by some member appointed by the "Minister on behalf of the Dcparinient.. Messrs Dwyer adn Ryan left the Bench to confer, as a deadlock had been reached. After an hour's adjournment no mutual arrangement had been arrived at, and the Court was adjourned till next morning. The Magistrate stn.ted that there was a rock in the way, and the point would have to be settled once and for all.
