THE DRIVER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 24, 8.50 p.m. Sydney, March 24. The inquest on the Exeter railway accident has concluded. The jury returned a verdict that the accident was caused by the driver, Irwin, over-running the home signal when at danger, and added a rider that loop lines should be lengthened to accommodate any train, or that a refuge siding should be made at either end. More precautions were necessary in foggy weather. Irwin has been committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter, and released on £2OO bail.
