THE "QUEEN" CROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. A unique ceremony was witnessed tonight, when, in the presence of a packed audience, Mrs. Gregor McGregor was crowned "Queen of the Carnival." The ady is a full-blooded Maori of hirii lineage. The ceremony was appropriate to the occasion. Sir James Carroll officiated. The Queen was attended by some leading local ladies, who were candidates for the election. They acted as maids of honor.
