HILLSBOROUGH.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent). The attendance at the concert and dance in the hall was very good indeed, notwithstanding the many eoun-ter-attraetions. Over £25 were the for the day and evening, and after paying expenses there will be a substantial margin of profit in aid of the hall funds. The president of tbo Hall Association (Mr. H. Ci Sampson),: in a few well-chosen remarks, thanked all who had in any way assisted towards the success of the gathering. The ' following programme was submitted:— Overture, Miss Old; recitation, Mr. Goldsworthy; song (in character), Mr. Lovell (encored); musical sketch, Mr.i Vinsen (encored); recitation, Master Goldsworthy; song, Mr. Lovell (encorrecitation, Miss Grace Bishop; musical item (on one-string violin), Mr. Brooks; Tecitation, Mr. Goldsworthy; song, Mr. J. B. Hill; convulsive item, Mr. Vinsen; National Anthem.
Mr. W. Perry played the accompaniments in his usual creditable manner. The ladies of the district, who attended to the refreshments (both during the day and evenrng) are worthy of special thanks for their indefatigable energy and attention.
