DISSATISFACTION WITH THE COMMISSIONERS. A PLEA FOR MINISTERIAL CONTROL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March J7. At the annual gathering of the mailroom clerks, the chairman of ttu Post and Telegraph Officers' Association referred to the dispute between the association and the Public Service Commissioners:. It had engaged the atteutnn of the "executive for months past. The advice' of the best men in the service had been sought, but no solution hadi been arrived at. It was generally admitted and regretted that the commissioners had been against the association from the outset. -He repeated that a differentiation between the grading of positions in the Civil Service and the Post and Telegraphs existed, and the commissioners had not removed it. This they could prove. The position 'was impossible and they could not submit to the commissioners' rulimr. The service had objected to the commissioners. They did not want them, and the time was eagerly looked forward to when the department would again be under the control of a Minister. The speaker also deplored the fact that the senior officers of the department gave no help and had not come forward at the crisis. The secretary of the department then intimated that lie was quite willing to meet representatives of the association and endeavour to arrange an understanding.
