FITZROY BEATS PONSONBY. Tie Poiwonby bowlers played the final match of their Taranak'i tour yesterday on the Fitzroy green, and were defeated by the home team by only one point. The green played well, and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Following are the score 3, Ponsouby players being mentioned first;— Comes, lister, Paul, Casey (s) 25, v. Oxenham, Bennett, Eennell,' Abbott (s) 27. Bottrell, Walker, McLcod, Taylor 22, v. Higgs, Dingle, Chivers, liealand 24. Jones,' Millar, John3on, Veale (s) 20, v. Price, Crawshaw, (Smith, Jackson (s) 17. . Totals: Ponsonhi- 67, Fitzroy 68. The Ponsonby team left for Auckland by boat last night, after what they all describe as a most enjoynldc tour. They were farqwellcd at the railway station by quite a large gathering of bowlers, cheers and counter-cheers bein<*' exchanged as the train moved out.
