HOWLED DOWN.
HON. F. M. B. FISHER IN THF. EMPIRF, CITY. A DISORDERLY MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, Minister of Customs and Marine, held a meeting at St. Peter's Hall to-night. The building was packed with a crowd which, on the Minister's appearance, broke into disorder, and would not allow him to speak. Mr. Fisher suggested that the meetling nominate a speaker to debate the Ituforni policy. Mr. Holland's name was [called loudly, and he mounted the plat[form. A section of the audience then howled Holland down, and after he had tried for some time to get a hearing, the police removed him. Meantime, the police had been busy in the body of the hall, ejecting disturbers. A window was broken, and some of the hall furniture roughly handled, and the meeting broke up in disorder, without any address being delivered. Many women were among the audience, and joined at times in the general clamour.
