AGITATION AGAINST PRIZE-FIGHTS AND ART UNIONS. A BARE MAJORITY FIGHT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 11. The Methodist Conference decided on a vigorous pledge-signing crusade during the year and recommended legislation for State option, in addition to local option, ballots to be on the basis nr the bare majority vote. The Conference entered a protest •igainst Sunday military exercises and ■rize fighting, protesting against the licensing of stadia. It urged the At-torney-General to refuse to authoriie ■irt unions, ovhich were instruments oi gambling, and urged all Methodists to nhstnin from secular engagements and unnecessary travelling on Sunday.
