In the debate on the Address-in-Reply, the Government was severely criticised for not enforcing the industrial law in connection with the meat strike. Air. Hall replied that .the Government had never given a promise to the men nofc to prosecute if they returned to work. If information were available prosecutions would follow. Air. Hall stated that the Government bakery produced Ifi.oOO loaves during the first week, costing £20,000 (?) No private baker could attain the same result. , The address was adopted.
