I Tlic three rinks of Ponsonby bowlers who arrived from Auckland by the Karawn yesterday opened their Taraliaki programme by beating the West End Club on its own green by <i!t points to r>s. The green played well and a most enjoyable, afternoon was spent. The visitors were cordially welcomed by Mr. K. .1, Hill, president of the Wi>t Knd Club. who said that his club hoped to pay a return visit (o Ponsonby next year. Mr. M. Casey, vice-president of vie Dominion Association, on behalf of 'he. visitors, thanked the West End Club for their generous hospitality. ■ lie expressed regret at the fact that the Australian bowlers did not visit New Plymonth, aa he knew that they would have enjoyed themselves, since the hospitality of the Taranaki bowlers was universally known. lie assured Uie West-Eiiders of a cordial welcome io Auckland. The Auckland bowlers, who recently visited Ilawera, went through by yesterday morning's express, en route for Auckland. The whole affair went off very merrily, and was greatly enjoyed by all the members. Mr Wilson briefly replied, and after giving a rough statement, promised later a duly certified account of the financial affairs of the company.
