A TRAGIC END.
HOUSEMAID SHOOTS EMPLOYER. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 9. A tragedy has taken place at Cadow station, in the Forbes distirct. A housemaid, named Jessie C'attanach, shot dead the station-owner, Sydney Jo'nes, a well-known sporting man and racehorse owner. • She wounded herself with a gun and then took a fatal dose of strychnine. The girl's dying deposition stated that Jones came into her room. She asked him to marry her, and he refused. She picked up a gun fron\ the bed, shot him, tried to shoot herself, and then took poison. The girl had been on the station for seventeen months.
