SATISFACTORY AGREEMENTS. MEN RETURN TO WORK. . Sydney, March 7. The strike settlement has been signed by the Premier and the employers. It provides that work shall be resumed forthwith on the rates of pay existing on February 1. Variation of the existing award has been referred to an expedited sitting of the board. The appeal now before the board as to whether the working liours shall be 49 or 50 has been settled forthwith on the basis of 49'/ 2 hours. There is to be no victimisation on either I side. The union pledges itself to refer i all future disputes to an industrial tribunal without cessation of work. Failure to absorb all labor immediately will not he regarded as a breach of faith on the part of the employers. The settlement applies to all the allied trades. Melbourne, March 7. The agreement between the master butchers and men has been signed and will operate from April 9.
