The Tndian Currency Commission whoso appointment was "cabled on February 14, 1013, recommends that a goiA .standard reserve should be kept in London, hut that at least half should be in actual gold. It docs not encourage the. use of rupees and notes are n more suitable currency in India. With regard to the sentiment and desire for a mint in India, .the Commission consider there would be no objection thereto, provided the coin minted is the sovereign. The report also advises the appointment of mi expert commission to examine into the question of a State or central bank in India.
