HILLSBOROUGH. (From Our Own Correspondent). 011 Thursday, March 12, sports will be held in Mr. 11. C. Sampson's beautiful grounds. A varied and novel programme has been arranged. Needless to say, those who come will enjoy them•selves. These annual gatherings are looked forward to with pleasure by settlers for miles around . Being only three miles from New Plymouth borough we naturally expect a number of our town friends to be with us tljat day. The Hall Committee has chosen a date when it will lie moonlight. The concert (at which some of Mew Plymouth's best talent will take part) is sure to lie well patronised, and the weather now at night being much cooler, those wishing to enjoy dancing will have an opportunity on a first-class floor and to firstclass music. An energetic ladies' committee will have charge of trie refreshments. Messrs 11. J. 11. Okey, M.P. and -I. S. Connett (chairman of the 801 l •Block Dairy Co.) have been ttstert co ■officiate as judges.
