AUCKLAND SESSION'S. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Justice Cooper and a jury of twelve were engaged to-day and until late this evening hearing a wearisome case arising out of tiie recent miniature war at Port Chevalier over the establishment of a sanitary depot there. Henry Atclieson was charged with assaulting Henriette Edwards and William Pratt. The latter were financially interested in the depot, and Atcheson was one of the ■residents of the district who objected ■to the institution being established there. A great amount of evidence was called, but before the evidence for the defence was concluded, the jury announced they had already heard enough of the ease, and unanimously were of opinion that a verdict of not guilty was the proper one. The judge accepted this and accused wasi discharged. This morning, the jury, after Ave hours' retirement, leturnod a verdicti of not guilty in the case against Amo, Hcmi Tcmeti, charged with the theft of f34 j from another native.
