Terrific Snowstorm
AMERICAN EXPERIENCES. A TOWN IN DARKNESS. SHIPPING SUFFERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright New York, March 2. Terrific snowstorms are being experienced throughout the Eastern States. Eight deaths are reported. The railroads are idle and street traflic delayed. A milk famine is feared owing to farm produce trains being unable to reach New York. The wireless services are dislocated and unable to communicate with ships of)' the coast. Hoboken is in darkness, owing to a breakage, of the electric power lines. Several schooners are ashore and one person has been drowned. Philadelphia is suffering severely from a blizzard. Hundreds of unemployed entered Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, stopping the service. The pastor addressed them, and the leader stated that they were hungry and cold. Acting on the pastor's suggestion, the congregation subscribed a considerable sum on the spot, providing food and lodgings for everyone throughout the night.
