WRECKED FRENCH BARQUE.

CREW ARRIVES IX WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last, Night. Eighteen members of the crew of the French barque Le Taur d'Auvergne, wrecked on Palmcrston Island on October 23 last, arrived in Wellington today from Tahiti, by the steamer Tahiti. The captain and chief officer are travelling home to France via San Francisco, and three of the seamen have joined a vessel" at Papeete as members of her crew. All the other shipwrecked men now in Wellington are en route for France. The barque left France with a cargo of briquettes for Tahiti and Noumea, and after discharging a portion at Papeete left for New Caledonia. She struck Palmcrston Island during a thick fog at night time. One man got ashore with a line, which he made fast, and bv that means everyone else was alile to land safely.
