The closing date of tlie Auckland Exhibition has been fixed for Saturday, March '2B, wlijcli will make its period from the opening ceremony 17 weeks. The question wns decided by a meeting of the executive this afternoon, A proposal that the extension should be until April 18 was defeated. A statement of tlie financial results from the southern tour of the Royal Artillery Band was made. Twentyone concerts were given, the gross proceeds hying £3OGO 8s 3d. The expenses were £lslO llis, leaving a profit of £ls-19 12s 3d. The cost of tlie hand to the exhibition during the thr«c weeks' tour was £OOO, bo that the aotual profit on the tour was £G4!) 12a 3d.
The present financial position of the Exhibition is that there is a credit balance of £7,150, but the commissioners have to meet liabilities exceeding that amount. There must be taken ii'ito account the prospective proceeds from the sale of the buildings, which cost about .£-25,000, and the fact that £fIOOO has already been expended on the permanent improvement of the Domain.
