OI'EXKJ) rfV THE PKEMIER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hasting, Last Night. This afternoon the Premier opened the lona Presbyterian Girls' College at Uaveloelc North, a splendid brick building situated on the Havelock Hills. The Kev. das. Patterson presided at the opening ceremony, and presented a gold hey to the Premier and also gold keys to Mr Hugh Campbell, of Ifreadalbaiie, and Mr Mason Chambers of Tauroa, two gentlemen who presented 12 acres of land on which the college is built, Mr Masscv, in a short, congratulatory address to the promoters of (he college, s*lid he was sure the people of the Dominion thoroughly appreciated the "nonefit of education. The money which was devoted to education was well spent.
