ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE NORWOODS. Reviewing tin- performances of tinNorwoods, wlio arc to appear* at the Theatre Royal for a farewell season of two nights, this evening and to-morrow evening, the (!rey River Argus says: "That the exhibitions of hypnotic suggestion, with the assistance of a number of '.subjects' has cairght in in public favor is amply demonstrated by the large and ever-increasing attendances as the season proceeds. Lust night the Town Hall was crowded in all parts, each and every one of those present following the vnr- t ions illustrations of hypnotic suggestion I with closest attention. The antics of J the subjects while under control were of the most diverting character n'ml provoked screams of merriment from the onlookers. The performance commenced with Professor Norwood awakening the sleeper who had been put into a iypnotic sleep forty-eight hours before. Tile way in which the awakening | sleeper hurled four strong men who were holding his arms ami legs, in all directions, showed that he had lost little if any bodily strength, by his long sleep. One clever performance.'was the exhibition of living statuary. In this case the subjects were worked up by hypnotic suggestion lo imagine they saw some exciting event and then when the climax came the expression was as it were frozen on their countenance, and they became for the time being living statues, portraying the dominant passion of the moment. The exhibition of mental telepathy, or as Professor Norwood prefers to call it, mental picture painting, by Miss Norwood again evoked the wonder and admiration of all." Heats may he reserved at Collier's piano depot. Popular prices will be charged, and a complete change of programme will be given nightly.
