WIRELESS RATES.
SUGGESTIONS FOR REDUCTION. By Cable —Pres9 Association—Copyright Sidney, February 21. Arrangements have been completed between the Amalgamated Wireless of Australasia, Limited, and the Postmas-ter-General, reducing the rates for wireless messages exchanged between Australian coast stations and ships at sea. It applies to ships registered in Australia and New Zi aland and trading exclusively between Australian ports and operates from .May 1. The present rate is lOd per word, of which -til goes to the ship and to the coast station. The new rate is ."hi. of which the .ships take 2d and the coast station fid, plus the level land I'ne charge of Id per word.

The wireless reductions include all vessels tradirg ex'-hisively between Australian and New Zealand ports. :>nil operates from March not May 1 si, for a trial period of six mouths. If it is found that the reduced charge can be continued withon' loss, the service will be made pennant ill.
