The Government and Opposition have agreed to the second reading of the Children's Employment and School Attendance Bill. The Bill raises school age to fifteen; abolishes half-time under thirteen years; and exempts those above that age conditionally upon entering beneficial employment. The Bill does not allow street trading for boys and girls under 17 and 18 respectively, but boys under 17 may be licensed if they attend continuation evening school.
