Accused was charged that, on February 20, at Christchurch, he did murder Hannah Thompson. On the apolicatioft of Sub-Inspector McKinnon, he w«s remanded until Saturday next. The inquest touching the circumstances attending the death of Hannab Thompson was opened in the afternoon. Nellie Thompson, daughter of deceased, stated that her mother, who was j>o years of age, was married, but lit* husband (witness's father) was at Rotoroa. Alexander Thompson was witness's brother.
