VENEREAL DISEASES.
XEI'D FOR ACTIVE MEASURES. By Telegraph.— Pross Association. Wellington, Last Xiglit. At tin* Hospital Board meeting today, a discussion took place on the prevalence of venereal diseases. Reference was made to the efforts employed to combat consumption, and speakers considered much of this work would be nullified unless active measures were taken against svphilli9, which it has been said, gave rise very often* to the other disease. "The sooner there is a special staff for this disease," said Mr. F. T. Moore, ''the better. There will be fewer criminals ill gaols then and fewer lunatics in asylums." Mr. Moore moved a resolution that the Medical Superintendent be asked to furnish u comprehensive report dealing with the dangers of venereal diseases, and the best method of combating such diseases. This was carried unanimously.
