NEWSPAPER PROPRIETORS' ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Now Zealand was resumed yesterday morning at 9.30 and concluded its deliberations at 11 ji.m. Mr P. Selig (president) occupied the chair. Many important proposals were .nought forward and discussed, inc'uded in which was the important matter of the World's Press Parliament which it is proposed shall be held in conjunction with the Panama Pacific International Imposition at San Francisco nest year. Mention was made of the valuable services rendered to the Association by Mr A. Blanton, who is shortly leaving New Zealand for Australia, and members made feeling reference to the president's recent severe illness. The approaching jubilee of Mr jilark Cohei (editor of the Dunedin Evening Star) was also brout-ht forward, and congratulations were extended to him.

Eulogistic reference was made to the valuable services rendered to newspaper circles by Mr. P. Selig, who wa» again elected president for the ensuing year. The following additional officers were" elected: —Vice-president, Mr F. B. Hymaii (manager, Lyttelton Times Company); committee, Messrs. G. Fenwick F. Pirani, N. Meßobio, L. Blundell, and If. Horton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. 11. Keys; lion, auditor, Mr E. 0. Kerr. VISIT TO THE OILFIELDS. Yesterday afternoon the visiting pressmen were the guests of tho New Plymouth Tourist And Expansion League, and were taken to the Moturoa. oilfields, where the directors of the various oil companies took them in hand and explained the various phases of the industry. The visitors appeared to be much interested in what they saw. TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS. The Pies* Association will hold ita annual meeting this morning. This afternoon the visitors will be the guests of the local newspaper proprietors and master printers at afternoon tea in the kiosk oil the racecourse, and will visit "Maranui" and ''Brooklands," at the in-l vitation of Messrs. C. W. Govctt anf Newton King, respectively. THE MASTER PRINTERS. The llastor Printers' Federation will hold its annual meeting to-morxovf. A Uowling match is being arranged between rwiks representing New Zealand Master Printers and the New Plymouth Club.
