Allen, Minister of Eda-! cation, visited the Te Ante Xative Col- 1 lege and Waipawa District High School this afternoon. In the evening he addressed a crowded meeting at Hastings. His speech was mainly a review of the work done by the Government, and a reply to Opposition criticisms, on lines previously published. At the conclusion of the address he was accorded a vote of thanks aiul confidence by .1 large majority. The Minister visits the schools at Hastings and Napier to-morrow and formally opens the Napier AVest School in the afternoon. He returns to Wellington on Wednesday.
