BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
THE LEAGUE'S PROPAGANDA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christeluirch, Lust Night. At a meeting of the Central Committee of the Bible-m-&hool& League tonight, a resolution was passed that the meeting, representing the electorates of Avon, Ashburton, Buller, Chriatchurch East, Christchurch North, Chriatchurch South, Ellesmere, Grey, Hurunui, Kaiapoi, Lyttelton, Iliccarton, Selwyn, Tennika, Timaru, Waitaki, and WestlanJ, with a membership of 30,125, tht conviction that sufficient evidncc hai been afforded the Government of the wishes of New Zealand for the referendum asked for by the League, and to justify the Government in passing the necessary measure to allow the poeplc to decide te matter for themselves at the next general election. The meeting also resolved that it would regret any delay, in the granting of a referendum, fearing the effect *f such delay would lie to cause the question of religious instruction to becone predominant at the next general elation, and pledged itself to support th.; executive in whatever course it deened necessary. The resolution also contained a suggestion to the executive to consider the desirableness of obtaining from members of the League signed promises from those prepared to put the question before all political issues.
