Tn the League games Bolton beat Liverpool by 2 to 1. Bradford Citv beat Tottenham by 2 to 1, Oldham beat Preston by 1 to nil, Blackburn beat Manchester Citv by 2 to l,,Burnlev beat Manchester United be 1 to nil! Newcastle beat Chelsea by 1 to nil, Everton beat Sheffield United by 4 to nil, Ashton Villa beat Sheffield Wednesday by 3 to 2, West Bronnvieh beat Middlesborough by 2 to 1, Sunderland beat Derby by 1 to nil. THE RUGBY CAME. At Twickenham the King and Mr. Asquifch were present for the match England v. Ireland, which was won by England by four tries (12 points) to a goal and a dropped goal (9 points).
