The adjourned enquiry into the running of Toatere in the Timaru Hack Handicap on the first day again engaged the attention of the stewards yesterday. After lengthy deliberation the decision of the stewards was that the owner, Mr If. C. Curtis, trainer (Mr R. Johnson I, jockey (C. Price) and hprse (Toatere) be disqualified for six months. The decision will come as a bombshell to Taranaki sportsmen. The persons concerned have always borne a high reputation, and the public cannot do otherwise but consider that harsk treatment has been meted out in this instance. A Wanganui wire states that the d ; =- trict committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club removed the disqualification recently imposed on Thos. Pritchard, as from last night.
