Ghcnadiefl', Minister for Foreign Affairs, announced the disappearance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of a whole series of documents establishing the responsibility of the late Govern•ment in matters fon which an impeachment was impending. EARTHQUAKE IN AMERICA. New York, February 10. An earthquake shock caved in a trench near Binghampton, killing a laborer. The shock was felt north as far as Montreal and Ottawa. Little damage is reported, AMERICAN BANK FAILURE, New York, February 10. The Mercantile Bank at Memphis did not open its doors. There was a deficit of £150,000. It is alleged that the president misappropriated the money and Ilost it in speculations. He has been arrested on a charge of embezzlement.
AN IMPERIAL DEPOT. London, February 10. »Sir John Taverncr is attempting to revitalise the scheme for establishing an Imperial depot in, the centre of Loudon for the reception, sale and distribution of colonial produce.
