WANT REINSTATEMENT.
AN ECHO OF THE STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Tuesday. A deputation waited on the Otago Harbor Board this afternoon to ask the Bonrd to consider the question of reinstating five men who had left the Board's service during the strike period .rather than carry out instructions to erect barricades on 2the wharves. All the members of the deputation addressed the Board at length on the different aspects of the ease. It was pointed out that the Board was doing a wrong thing in 'having 18 or 20 non-unionists j,in its employ at the present time when there were unionists available for employment. They asked that the dismissed men should be reinstated at the earliest opportunity. , In the course of a brief discussion between the Beard members which followed, Mr. Scollay said there had been a black list in circulation on the water 'front since the strike and what was go,ing on was anything but a credit to the community. The matter was finally referred for report to a committee.
